eyyeess

Practising eye angles and what i can achieve by just moving the eyelids down but on an angle and eyes looking heavy in the corner. This will make the character look angry. I have placed dummys and used the tool with two boxes on the top tool bar.

Geek

I have designed an easier character because the character that I first thought of a drawn was far to complicated for now in time. Im thinking of using it in the future. Keeping my idea simple and effective at the same time. The character is now going to be a smaller thing its going to have quite small legs. And will be representing anger. The eyes i designed in 3d max itself rather than creating it in paint and then importing it as a single file and then add the materials . I created a sphere and then went into the materials tool list and added the material to the eye. Which I found alot more easier and quicker. Ive had help from a student which I found very useful I know so much more than I did.
What I need to do now is create :-
mouth- bridge/bevel?
hands - select and uniform.
symmetry this helps you to create the rest of the body for you.
eye sockets bevel ( the red little dots then select it)

tutorial in auto3d max

I have been working on a tutorial using Auto 3d Max I found it very useful in the way of making the character move and the way it should move. Im trying to figure out the way his feet should move and his knees etc. Im finding it hard to figure it out and the whole design of the character.

gallery in Waterstones for tutorial

I have recently been to a gallery in waterstones by Nancy Farmer. I found her very unusual she had a varied pallette that she used. She had alot going on in her images. It was like her own concept of life and how she sees it. I think most of her ideas either come from fetish dolls or some kind of fetish. Her paintings didnt appeal to me there very surreal. But the amount of detail in each painting was amazing the depth etc the she creates really draws you into the painting.

graffiti designs 9

i took random bits from magazines that i read and either pencil over the design or used a pentel pen to create the thickness and the strong dominat lines.
Im trying to make this characters be expressive as possible. So choosing 'Anger' will represent alot of expression throughout the animation that will last 30 seconds. Im going to make his hands move to represent the anger the walk will hopefully convey my concept of anger.

Developing on character designs

I have designed a character that represents anger. Hes going to walk ( rigging) and he gets to the end of the walk he becomes angry. He alway has he is shoe laces untied which he gets angry about.

animation light seminar

Low Morale (http://www.lowmorale.co.uk/) is a series of animations portraying one man’s struggle to cope with the soul-sapping, will-to-live draining, life-force mugging, morale crushing experiences of work. And MTV have acquisitioned a number of the episodes for use in a new MTV-brand campaign.

After 4 million years of work, the music video for new British band NIZLOPI is finished. The video was commissioned back in January 2005, for the band's first single release - 'JCB'. As well as a music video, part of the project was to develop a micro-site and preview of the video to get some buzz going. The micro-site, http://www.jcbsong.co.uk/ did just that and has helped raise awareness of the band. The full video is now complete and available to view from the site, or direct from this page : www.jcbsong.co.uk/jcbvideo.asp

working on drawing skills

character e4

Character designs for e sting4 which I created an animation for. I found doing animations very last minute I didnt benefit from. I wasnt happy with the end results.

reflecting two

I have found creating the eye alot more easier than i thought. I am getting used to using this programme now. (Its taken a while). Reflecting on what i have been through learning new things about 3d max. It has been a learning curve which I have benefited from and I think it will help me in the future. I need to start creating some designs for the animation that we have to create. Been looking at The Animators Survival Kit Richard Williams book which has been really useful in the sense of how to draw a character from different perspectives. And what should be included within a frame.

eye seminar

one render with turbo smooth added to effect and plcaed colour on the eyelids. Placed dummy on it to make the eyes be grouped together. ( to get them grouped select and linkand drag the line from eye to box).
Add materials cntrl M click on the four colurful balls. Use Blinn or Anistrophic these two are normally for eyes and give it shinnyness and depth. To add the material onto it ( show map in viewport click on the box with the blue bits on it or image with box on it drag and drop onto it.) 120 specular level, 60 glossy.

week 17 EYE

Create three cirlces the first one go on an 45 degree angle and do each of them. Then add colour to each of them.Created in paint and then placed into photoshop( add Gaussain Blur and noise to give the grainyness to the eye make it look more realistic). Then import into Auto 3d Max.

Stage one character build up

plan and produce a 30 second animation of one character expressing one of the following states: Anger,Excitement,Desperation or Satisfaction. Just by having a few gestures even by just moving youre hands can convey any feeling. I have chosen either anger or excitement which i think are the strongests ones that we have to choose from.

Holding Pattern ( writting for screen media)

This video was a piece of group work which consist of Hannah Berry, Eriko Hamada, mia coulter, Inacia fong Carolina We had to work from a script but you could take your own take on it. We did a film about animal welfare were a man kicks a duck and so on. So we did a woman sitting on a bench with a suit on counting money and then she kicks the duck. The film lasts about 3 minutes which I thought was long. And working with a group that I havent worked with before I found interesting but used it as a learning curve. I think we were the only group that took our own take on it.

I think if i use it one day on and one day off it but working on my ideas i think it will work out really well, and aswell looking at tutorials reading the Richard Williams but, will help alot in a way just generally reading up on it. So it will help me in the long run.
