AV TASK analysis a film /synopsis

A film by Darren Aronofsky Requiem For A Dream from director of (pie)based on the novel by Hubert Selby jr. ( Ellen Burstynb Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, Marlon Wayans).
I have chosen Requiem for a dream
I think the music in this film sets the scene its an emotionally charged film set amidist the abandoned beaches and faded glory of Coney Island, Brookly. Its based on a novel. I found out that the story intricately links the lives of a lonely widowed mother and hus best friend. Its a hypnotic tale of our human beings each pursuing their vision of happiness. Even as everything begins to fall part, they refuse to let go, plummeting with their dreams into nightmarish, gut-wrenching freeform.

hiphop montages sharp sounds and images one after another like a musical piecesthe plane noise builds up and creates atmosphere like at the theatre.
Maically cleaning the room took 30 minutes to take one frame
lighting because of the cleaning part of the film took so long after each of the 30 minutes there had to be certain lights that were needed to be added or taken out . Each of the lights had signifcance. The lighting in the scene of the show ' juice' there very bright and flashy, gloomy they give the atmosphere of a show. But when it cuts to when hes talking about his weight lost when he was at the bottom of his life, the dull lighting or outside, natural lighting no addded lighting.

What i found out watching this film alot of things can be addictive even watching tv, eating , drinking , sleeping etc.

change of ideas and building up more of characters

I have changed my idea once again im still going to have the young bloke hes an urban styled person, distinctive walk,has his music blasting out, and has flies around him and mite have some kind of comfort blanket in his hand. These flies will be constantly around him never leave him alone. To represent that he dont care about himself. He is an angry man and im going to have his 'odd couple' a dog but his personality changes. When hes around his parents hes an angressive person but, when he sees is dog he goes all lovey dovy and is really happy. The dog will have its one dotty personality but quite a strong willed character. Which is a heavy bodied dog which means when walks with a bum that wiggles and a clompy kind of walk.But when the dog sees him he runs up his back and sits on his shoulders.

2nd script

Keeping with the theme this he is angry. He always has his music blasting out if his headphones.He is a very thin bloke with a urban style to him he has a distinctive walk and never agrees with anybody. Sitting in the kitchen with this french woman that he has rented a house with. Hes never on time with his rent the old french lady is starting to get angry at him. she doesnt speak english as her frist language so sometimes theres a language barrier, they both get frustrated. An angrument starts in the front room the television is crackley limited signal. And his music is very loud. She grabs his headphones of his head
she says' listen to me '
he said ' whats up'
she says' you never pay you're rent on time ,clean up after youre self
he said ' yeh thats why i pay to live here youre my cleaner?
she says ' no im not get out of my house right this minute .
he said ' no i wont '
she says' yes you will other wise i will call the police'
hes been in trouble with the police before doesnt wont to be in there bad books again.
he said' ok I move out today i need to arrange to live somewhere.'
she said' dont care get out now!!!
he said' ' OMG '!!grabs all of his stuff and puts in black bin bags) storms off and slams the door the whole hosue shakes.
she says' never come back here again
a few hours later he goes to the skate park and sleeps rough she starts to feel guilty and looks everywhere for him. She finds him and hes all bruised and is all cold and generally looking rough.
she said' im sorry for making you move out of the flat
he said ' shurgs,grunts
she said ' im apologising at least you could say something
he said ' what im i expected to say?
She said ' grabs all of his stuff ' come back to the flat!!
they both walk back in complete silence....

working on script and ideas

so far I have found this project alot more involved animation and the sketching side of things. I have found it hard trying to find the odd couple in a sense of a boy and an old french woman or boy with panda. I have got to options which will either be good and work out or either wont. I need to work on the background and make it become a story. I am starting to write my script its nearly coming together but as I write im thinking of more ideas.
Start scene in front room
where theres a table and the television on tv crackly not on the right station.
He sits around the table just chilling listening to his music. The background theres hip/hop music blasting out which his parents are listening to . His dad take off his headphones because he isnt listening to them . As his dad takes the headphones off he looks shocked.
Dad says ' what are you listening to,? not what i thought it would be.
Dad says' he shouts his wife over to listen to what his son is listening to.
She says' omg its classical music' why are you listening to that rubbish'
He says' its not rubbish i like this music it has alot more depth and alot more better to what you listen to.' end of
he walks off but as he walks off he trips over something ??? he picks it up

Recently had a look at Dot dot dash book which was inspirational for character designs and who they would sell and what type of audience it would appeal to. But I found the book good to get ideas from.

At the heart of it all character is information and its how the audience percieves this information that we must occupy ourselves with. What the character looks like and indeed what the character is and does is what the audience initially understands, this is bolstered by what the character chooses not to door say. The initial decision of whom or what the character is needs to b considered and documented. The easiest choice is Holding up our hand and saying " its me" because i know what I look like and I know what I would say or do. Documenting your own appearance is only a moments work with a camera. Beyond this you have your family or mates to draw on. So, character design, there is a rather usefully a contemporary sort of art movement centered around character design, PICTOPLASMA is an art movement based in Berlin who have published some inspirational volumes and the collectable vinyl toy fad out of Japan influential and useful because these characters are in 3d already.
My idea on the characters
I have sketch many different designs but I have come around to a sketch that I like. He is an angry teeanger that always has his music blasting out of his headphones which drives this french woman crazy. They sit everyday in the kitchen infront of the flickering television.But they still dont get on seeing as he is a angry person he always walks off but his walk aint average he has a swag. Which always grabs peoples attention.Then the french woman has one leg shorter than the other so she wears a rather large shoe which has a distinctive noise. The only way he chills out is either walk to skate park or graffiti wall. The background will be a french sketchy style to it , which will be a different type of style that I havent done im looking at french animators to get inspiration.

We have been asked to produce a thirty second animated teaser trailer with 2 characters for a short animated film entitled: 'The Odd Couple'. Then to present work and what will be expected
